During the most recent Tenant Talk Live meeting, Kayla Laywell of NLIHC discussed the National Tenants Bill of Rights (TBOR), a policy agenda that aims to shift the balance of power between tenants and landlords. Kayla shared information about the comprehensive plan, including the seven essential rights highlighted in it – namely, the rights to a fair application; a fair lease; freedom from discrimination and harassment; a habitable home; reasonable rent and costs; safeguards against evictions; and the right to organize. Attendees shared their ideas about the most effective outreach strategies for advancing the TBOR. Watch a recording of the discussion here. Our next Tenant Talk Live meeting will be held on September 9 at 6 pm ET (5 pm CT, 4 pm MT, 3 pm PT).
