The Our Homes, Our Votes campaign, a nonpartisan initiative to boost voter turnout among low-income renters and elevate housing as an election issue, hosted the fifth installment of its 2024 webinar series on Monday, June 17. The webinar, “Tenant Organizing and Elections: Getting Out the Renter Vote,” featured a roundtable of resident leaders from the Minneapolis Highrise Representative Council (MHRC), the citywide association representing more than 5,000 residents in 42 public housing high-rises.
Five MHRC resident leaders spoke on the panel: Shirley Brown, Gloria Coles, Mattie Henderson, Mary McGovern, and Tamir Mohamud.
