NLIHC hosted a national HoUSed campaign call on May 8. Natasha Duarte and Mariah de Leon of Upturn discussed how advocates can weigh in on tenant screening regulations being considered by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the U.S. Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB). Christopher Davis of the Urban Institute spoke about the connections between land-use reform and housing costs, and Libby Murphy of the Minnesota Housing Partnership discussed the historic $1 billion housing omnibus bill just passed by the Minnesota legislature. NLIHC Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Field Organizing Sarah Saadian and NLIHC Manager of Field Organizing Brooke Schipporeit concluded the call by sharing how advocates can take action to oppose deep budget cuts and urge Congress to invest in affordable housing and homelessness programs at the scale needed.
A recording of the call, as well as the presentation slides, are now available.
